Myokaku-ji temple is a Nichiren-sect temple located in Kamigyo Ward; the Sengoku-period warlord Oda Nobunaga frequently stayed there when visiting Kyoto, and tea ceremonies hosted by Sen no Rikyu were also held on the premises.
