Hidden gems

Recently, Kyoto has seen a large influx of foreign tourists, many of whom visit specific temples and shrines such as Kiyomizu-dera, Kinkaku-ji, and Fushimi Inari Taisha. While these are all popular tourist destinations, Kyoto is also home to many other historical sites that represent its rich history and Japanese culture.

In Uji, Kyoto, there is a temple called Mimuroto-ji temple, also known as the “Hydrangea Temple,” where the hydrangeas blooming from June to mid-July are magnificent.
The photo shows a rabbit drawn with hydrangea flowers placed on a staircase.

Introduction

First Post

Today, April 27, 2026, marks my first post. I will be introducing Kyoto in all four seasons to those planning to visit Kyoto in the future. I hope to introduce the true essence of Kyoto while avoiding overtourism as much as possible.
Kyoto is a city where, through its unique atmosphere, you can experience the changing seasons, history, and culture of each time you visit.
